Police Chief Simulator arrest guide: Taser, ammo & common blockers
The full-game storyline now uses the X-26 Taser where older guides show the M1911. Update #3 introduced the Taser at Bear Arms; later patches address Taser restrictions, suspect-related crashes and pistol ammo switching.
Why your arrest task shows a Taser instead of a pistol
Update #3, October 2 replaced the storyline M1911 with the X-26 Taser. The pistol and its ammunition remain in the game. Follow the equipment named by your current objective instead of buying a pistol solely because an older walkthrough used one.
The update places the Taser, cartridges and cartridge-storage containers at Bear Arms. Check both the tool and its ammunition before leaving for the task. At the time of that announcement, patrol officers could not yet use Tasers; it does not establish that assigning one to an employee works in your current build.
Understand the arrest handoffs
The July Demo arrest preview describes responding to a report, reaching the suspect, subduing them, applying handcuffs and preparing transport. Use that as an overview, then follow the active full-game tutorial for inputs and equipment.
- Read the objective and confirm the named tool is available.
- Complete the suspect interaction shown by the tutorial.
- Confirm the restrained state before attempting the transport interaction.
- Follow the stated destination and processing objective.
The Demo prison-preview sequence and the full-game Holding Cells workflow are not interchangeable. If a prisoner has already reached the station, continue with registration and transport.
Match an equipment failure to the right fix
| Symptom | Developer note | Useful next check |
|---|---|---|
| Taser is blocked by a gun ban | Patch #32 fixes Taser classification as a firearm. | Install current updates and repeat the same interaction. Include the zone and tool in a report if it persists. |
| Game crashes when a suspect is tased or shot | Patch #31 lists a criminal-interaction crash fix. | Record the tool, action and location. A similar crash may still have a different cause. |
| Pistol will not change ammunition | Patch #34 addresses pistol ammo switching. | Check current controls and the ammunition you have after updating; this is separate from buying Taser cartridges. |
Can rubber bullets kill? What we can verify
The July 31 Demo ammunition preview describes rubber rounds as less harmful and as reducing resistance. It does not promise zero lethality. This guide has not verified a current full-game “rubber bullets kill” fix or a guaranteed nonlethal shot technique.
If the outcome contradicts the equipped ammo, record the selected ammo, suspect state, number of hits, build and result. Do not assume an old Demo description proves what happened in a newer full-game encounter. The bug-report template helps separate an ammo-selection issue from a suspected damage bug.
