Getting started / FIELD NOTE 03

Police Chief Simulator beginner’s guide: your first shift

THE SHORT ANSWER

Start by identifying your game version and following the active tutorial objective. Use this checklist to stay oriented; it is not a tested full-release walkthrough.

1. Check your build before following a walkthrough

Read the title in your Library: Demo, Prologue — Early Days, or the full game. Write down the version number if the game displays one. If instructions online do not match your screen, this is the first thing to compare.

2. Let the current objective set the order

Read the entire objective, including any named room, object or required action. Complete one requested step before spending your budget on optional expansion. This is general starting advice, not a claim that a particular upgrade order is optimal.

If progress stops, record the exact objective and the last action that worked. A screenshot of that state is much more useful than “the tutorial is broken.”

3. Separate station work from field work

Think of your station as a sequence of handoffs: a report comes in, a case is prepared, and officers act on it. When work stalls, look for the stage that has not been completed instead of changing several assignments at once.

Our dispatch overview summarizes the developer’s announced briefing process. Treat it as a preview until you confirm the same workflow in your installed build.

4. Keep a small first-session record

  • Game edition and build.
  • Current objective and room.
  • Last completed action.
  • Any error message or unexpected behavior.

This makes it easier to resume later or ask a precise question in the official community.

What this guide does not claim

We have not tested the full release. We do not publish invented key bindings, exact upgrade costs, save locations, or a “best” money strategy. For controls, follow your build’s on-screen prompts and inspect its settings before using a key list from another version.
