Police Chief Simulator crashing, not launching or stuck?

Game will not launch or keeps crashing

1. Record the exact error and whether the crash happens at launch, while loading, or during play.
2. Restart your PC, open Steam and let any pending game update finish.
3. In your Library, right-click the correct game edition and open Properties.
4. Select Installed Files, then Verify integrity of game files.
5. Let verification and any replacement downloads finish before trying again.

This procedure comes from Steam Support. It checks the installation; it does not establish that a gameplay bug or damaged save has been repaired.

A save will not load

Record which edition created the save and whether loading stopped working after an update. Do not overwrite your only save or copy files between the Demo, Prologue and full game without verified instructions.

We have not confirmed a universal save-recovery method or a save-folder path for the release. Ask the developer for the correct backup and diagnostic steps for your build.

An objective or officer appears stuck

Capture the exact objective text, the room or location, and the last action before the problem. Check the latest developer notes for the same symptom. A similar report from the Prologue may not apply to the full game.

If you can reproduce it without risking progress, write down the shortest sequence that triggers it. Do not label a workaround “fixed” until you can repeat the successful result.
