How officer dispatch works in Police Chief Simulator
Prepare the case, select it at the Briefing Board, assign officers and equipment, then dispatch. When the process stalls, identify whether the case, board or employee has stopped; they have different documented fixes.
Follow one case through the station
- Prepare the case in the Detective Room.
- Select that case at the Briefing Board.
- Assign officers and equipment to the selected case.
- Brief and dispatch the team.
- Check the Winston Springs map for the return estimate.

Work on a case without interrupting the detective
Update #7 adds a scanner, board and computer to the Sheriff’s Office upstairs. They perform the same casework tasks as the Detective Room, so you can work alongside the assigned employee.
Use that station when you want to handle a case yourself. If an employee is already stopped, the extra equipment does not establish that the worker is repaired: record the current case and check the relevant patch below.
Find the stage that has stalled

Before replacing equipment or rebuilding the room
Keep the case and team unchanged while checking one missing requirement. If you replace the case, officers and equipment together, you lose the evidence of which change helped. Take a screenshot of the board and the active objective first.
A patch note confirms a developer-reported fix, not recovery of every affected save. If the same action still fails after updating, report the exact handoff using the bug-report template. For a form error or “Incorrect Case” message, use the case-error guide.
